SKYCYCLE LANES PROPOSED FOR LONDON
Plans have been released by the Major of London Boris Johnson to create a series of elevated cycle lanes across the city, much like the High Line in New York but on a larger scale. Called the SkyCycle, the proposed lanes have been designed by Exterior Architecture and would connect Stratford - the site of the London 2012 Olympics - with the City via. Liverpool Street station.
Unlike using the roads however, the plan is currently to charge people £1 on their Oyster card to use the lane, but for many people that’s a small price to pay for being able to avoid the congested roads below. Speaking about the project, Sam Martin - director of Exterior Architecture said:
